Statement of Faith
We are a local body of believers in Christ who are heeding the mandate to assemble ourselves with other believers where we can not only study God's word but encourage one another in Spiritual Love.
Not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near. Hebrews 10:25 (ESV)
We teach everyone needs Eternal Salvation and all may receive it.
We believe Jesus Christ died on the Cross, paying the penalty for the sins of the entire world. We believe God the Father was satisfied by the substitutionary death of His Son Jesus on the Cross, and He now offers the free gift of eternal life by faith in Jesus alone, without any works.
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God Ephesians 2:8 (KJV)
We teach the importance of the Holy Spirit in each of our lives and that any believer can enjoy fellowship with Him by trusting Him.
We believe that because Eternal Salvation is a free gift from God, with God doing all the work, and with no works on our part, that once received by faith, Eternal Life is just that - Eternal! It can not be lost or taken away!
11 And the testimony is this, that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. 12 He who has the Son has the life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have the life. 1 John 5:11+12 (NASB)
We believe the Bible is God’s complete communication to us; it is without error in its original text. We believe it can only be truly understood under the ministry of the Holy Spirit.
We believe that God has a plan and a purpose for each of us and in His grace has supplied all we need to fulfill them.
How Am I Saved?
Titus 3:5 & 6 says “He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness, but according to His mercy……”
So, we are saved by faith and faith alone in Jesus Christ. He is the One whom God sent to deliver us from the penalty of sin by His death on the cross.
Many religions teach that you can be your own savior as you produce your own righteousness. This self righteousness is based upon your good deeds, works, and or following the rituals of that church. God says that Salvation is a free gift (Ephesians 2:8), so we know that we cannot work for or earn salvation.
Those who trust Jesus Christ as their Savior are at that point born of the Spirit and are assured of an eternity in Heaven. (Romans 5:6-9; Romans 4:5; Ephesians 2:8-9; John 3:5-18)
